Funding
The centre in Munich assumes the coordination of the project. For keeping the virtual patients up to date continuously and to update the technical requirements a participation fee of 1200 Euro per annum and institute is charged. The project meetings are supported by the Klaus-Tschira-Stiftung (Heidelberg) until springtime of 2007 and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
For financing the international expansion of the project (worldwide) we made an application at the MINERVA-programme of the European Union. This application has been accepted at the end of July 2004.
The national program is supported by the Bavarian Virtual University (VHB).
Since November 2003 the virtual patients can be accessed at the VHB. In the context of the new education system for medical students complete part of their occupational medicine lessons at the Ludwig-Maximilans-University by going through the virtual patients on the web.
